Julia and Sam flew from Vermont, USA, to Furnas, in São Miguel, Azores, the homeland of Julia's mom, for an intimate wedding brimming with love and the finest details. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Terra Nostra was the place chosen for the ceremony, and the dinner was served in a lovely tea house near Lagoa das Furnas. Hoje queremos muito partilhar algo que está a cre Hoje queremos muito partilhar algo que está a crescer desde Maio: em breve, seremos três! Ter filhos nunca fez parte dos nossos planos a dois, mas em Maio, um dia depois de fazermos 10 anos juntos, recebemos a maior das notícias: iríamos ser pais. Nesse momento o Dado pulou de alegria de câmara em punho e registou tudo… Eu, de coração aberto, digo que senti uma insegurança enorme, um medo aterrador e uma culpa ainda maior por não me sentir eufórica com a notícia que se revelará em frente dos nossos olhos! Mil questões vieram à minha cabeça, muitas incertezas e inseguranças… Porque é que eu não me estava a sentir feliz e a pular de alegria? Puro medo. Tudo acalmou, os dias de medo passaram e ver este bebecas a crescer e a fazer-se notar transformou-se rapidamente numa alegria que não cabe no peito. Anda Manu, já estamos à tua espera. ❤️
A few weeks ago, we were nominated as one of the 9 A few weeks ago, we were nominated as one of the 9 best wedding photographers in Portugal by @thewed. We can't express how this was a huge and unexpected surprise and an absolute honor to be on a list with such talented photographers and some whom we are lucky to call friends. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have been photographing together for almost 10 years, and we have learned so many lessons, and it's here that we can relate to all the words that @niravpatelweddings said when he also received a nomitation from The Wed: "Success often comes at a price if we don't keep the things we value the most as a priority. It can lead to a hollow victory, where we might have achieved our goals but lost sight of what truly matters - love, relationships, and personal wellbeing. So while striving for success, I feel it's crucial to maintain a balance, making sure that our pursuit of achievements doesn't overshadow the importance of the people and values we hold dear. Also to fellow artists feeling disheartened by what you see on social media and trying to compare your journey to others, remember this: You are enough. Your pace, your journey, your growth - they are uniquely yours and not meant to be compared with anyone else's. So, keep your head up, maintain a balanced mindset, and continue creating. Your perspective is a gift that only you can share.
